What is integrative medicine? According to the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, integrative medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative. Does the practice take my insurance? We work for you, not for insurance companies. Thus we are "out of network" for commercial insurance, which allows us to provide the kind of personalized service, without conflicts of interest, that our patients value. Payment is required at the time of service, and we provide an itemized statement with all the necessary codes to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are also able to submit the claim electronically to your insurance company on your behalf. How much you will recover depends on your insurance policy details but can be as much as 80% for PPO insurance or 100% for international travelers insurance and out-of-area HMOs. One solution that works for many of our patients is to obtain a high-deductible insurance policy with an accompanying Health Savings Account that will provide catastrophic coverage. Then you can use the money you save on this less-expensive insurance to obtain the kind of high-quality personalized care you deserve on a pre-tax basis. Patients with Medicare are encouraged to call our office for further details. |
