My Doctor Medical Group is a private medical practice in downtown San Francisco. Our service include:

We take a comprehensive and detail-oriented approach to medical care, providing the highest level of expertise in a comfortable and professional setting. We also pay careful attention to ethics, conflicts of interest, transparency and personal privacy, issues that many of our patients prioritize highly.
Paul Abramson MD
Paul Abramson MD received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and comes from a multigenerational lineage of medical doctors. His Grandfather and Great Grandfather were physicians and surgeons in each of the World Wars and pillars of their community, inspiring him to follow in their footsteps.
Dr. Abramson is Board Certified in Family Medicine, Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and completed a Residential Senior Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at Dr. Andrew Weil’s Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
He has been a pioneer in the use of self-tracking technologies in medical care, blogging and speaking as The Quantified Doctor (http://quantdoctor NULL.com) and developing our Quant Coach Program within My Doctor Medical Group.
Paula Kenney MFT
Paula Kenney is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC#46454) specializing in anxiety, depression and addiction. She provides psychotherapy and mind-body medicine support to patients in our Quant Coach and Addiction Treatment programs, as well as general psychotherapy to individuals and couples in our medical practice. She brings to each case whatever tools are most appropriate, but has special expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Contemporary Psychoanalysis, and Family Therapy.
Paula also leads our special therapy groups and provides direction to our behavioral medicine and addiction programs.
Denise Garbinski RD
Food as Medicine
Denise Garbinski is a Registered Dietitian specializing in medical nutrition therapy for optimal wellness, weight management, and complex medical conditions. She has special expertise in functional medicine, emotional eating, and using food as medicine. Denise is comfortable with working with patients within various paradigms, including plant-based diets and evolutionary/Paleo approaches, and always adapts her approach to each individual’s needs and preferences. Her years of clinical experience also allow her to comfortably work with very medically complex cases.
Lauren DeDecker CPT
Lauren DeDecker is a Certified Personal Trainer specializing in medically-supervised Quant Coaching. She has special expertise in nutritional biochemisty, exercise physiology and evolutionary and Paleo nutrition.
Lauren co-founded with Dr. Abramson our Quant Coach Program, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program and Weight Management Program, where she provides detailed coaching to our participants as they implement customized programs to investigate and optimize their health
Kamal Patel, MPH
Kamal Patel is a PhD candidate in nutrition, researching the link between diet and chronic pain, and is an active contributor to the Paleo and Ancestral Health community. He has published peer-reviewed articles on vitamin D and calcium as well as a variety of clinical research topics. He’s also been involved in research on fructose and liver health, mindfulness meditation, and nutrition in low income areas. Kamal has an MPH and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
Kamal joined our our Quant Coach Program team, in 2013, where he brings his considerable expertise in nutrition and mind-body medicine to help our patients to solve complex or challenging problems.
Portia Barnblatt DAOM LAc
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Portia Chan Barnblatt, DAOM, LAc earned her master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco in 1996. More recently Dr. Barnblatt completed a doctoral program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at ACTCM in 2011, focusing on pain management and women’s health, and spent a year at Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine University where she practiced privately and published two books on Chinese Medicine in Chinese and English for use in TCM training programs. Portia also has special expertise in the use of acupuncture for stroke rehabilitation.
