Who We Serve

The Professional

Your schedule is demanding and your time is valuable. Whether you're an executive, entrepreneur, or prominent professional, you need peak performance, timely diagnosis, and a physician who coordinates care efficiently around your commitments.

The Proactive

You track your data, read the research, and think seriously about longevity. You want a physician who understands advanced biomarkers, takes your optimization goals seriously, and won't dismiss your interest in healthspan as excessive.

The Coordinator

You manage healthcare for your family: aging parents, a spouse with multiple specialists, or a child with complex needs. You need a practice that serves as the central hub, keeping track of what each provider is doing and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

The Discreet

Your career depends on your judgment, reputation, or professional licensure. Whether you're navigating a sensitive health concern or simply require privacy as a baseline, you need a practice that understands what's at stake and operates accordingly.

The Complex

You have a complex illness, a mystery syndrome, or symptoms that defy easy answers. You need expert diagnosis, coordination across specialists, and a physician with access to the latest medical science who will persist until there's clarity.

The Performer

You train seriously and think of your body as a system to be optimized. You want a physician who respects your goals, understands performance physiology, and partners with you rather than reflexively telling you to slow down.

Our Difference

What Sets Us Apart

Many practices call themselves concierge. Here is what makes our model structurally different.

Physician-Owned, Fully Independent

We are not owned or controlled by any hospital system, health network, or private equity group. While Dr. Abramson holds clinical affiliations (hospital privileges at CPMC, a teaching appointment at UCSF), these create no financial relationships or obligations to favor any institution. Our recommendations reflect only what is best for you.

Coordination Across Institutions

We have established relationships with specialists at UCSF, Stanford, and leading institutions throughout the Bay Area and beyond. When you need care elsewhere, whether across town or across the world, we coordinate communication and ensure continuity.

Hospital Admitting Privileges

Dr. Abramson and Dr. Padula maintain active admitting privileges at California Pacific Medical Center. For VIP and Home Care members, when hospitalization is necessary, your own physician can oversee your inpatient care directly. This continuity is uncommon among concierge practices. We also actively supervise and coordinate inpatient care at other Bay Area hospitals, including UCSF and Stanford, and nationwide should you be hospitalized while traveling.

A Multidisciplinary Team

Beyond your primary physician, our practice includes nursing staff, psychotherapists, an acupuncturist, and patient care coordinators. We meet regularly to discuss complex cases and ensure coordinated care. Your health is managed by a team, not just an individual.

Priority

Excellent primary care built around a long-term physician relationship and unhurried appointments.

The Priority tier delivers what primary care should be but rarely is: a physician who knows you, appointments that aren't rushed, and a team that responds when you need them. You have a designated physician supported by clinical staff who handle triage, coordination, and communication between visits.

Includes:

  • Annual 90-minute comprehensive health assessment
  • Quarterly 45-minute physician follow-up visits
  • Same-day or next-day appointments for urgent concerns
  • 24/7 phone access for urgent medical questions
  • Secure messaging through our patient portal

VIP

For those who require a physician as a true partner in navigating complex healthcare.

The VIP tier is designed for patients whose health, schedule, or circumstances demand the highest level of access and advocacy. Your physician knows your history, your goals, and your preferences. When something arises, you reach them directly. When you need a specialist, we open doors. When hospitalization is necessary, your own physician oversees your care at CPMC, or coordinates with other Bay Area and nationwide hospitals.

Includes:

  • Priority direct access to your personal physician
  • Expedited referrals to leading specialists at UCSF, Stanford, and beyond
  • Coordination with executive assistants and family offices
  • Scheduled house calls in San Francisco when medically indicated
  • Inpatient oversight at CPMC and coordination with other hospitals when required

Enrollment is limited to preserve the quality of the relationship.

Home CareFor San Francisco patients who require primarily home-based medical care.

The Home Care tier serves patients whose circumstances make regular office visits difficult or impractical. This includes scheduled house calls, the coordination capabilities of the VIP tier, and hospital oversight at CPMC when admission is necessary.

Getting Started

How It Works

Joining the practice is a deliberate process. We want to make sure the fit is right for both sides.

1

Inquiry Call

A brief call with our nursing team to understand your needs, answer initial questions, and confirm that our practice is likely a good fit.

2

Meet Your Physician

A conversation with your prospective physician to discuss your health history, goals, and what you are looking for in a medical practice.

3

Records and Preparation

We collect your medical records, coordinate with existing providers, and prepare a thorough review so your physician is fully briefed before your first visit.

4

Your First Visit

A comprehensive in-person visit at our 450 Sutter Street office. This is the beginning of an ongoing physician relationship, not a rushed introduction.

Patient Voices

What Our Patients Say

They coordinate everything for my mother. House calls, talking to specialists, medications, physical therapy. It is the peace of mind our family needed.

FL, San Francisco

Dr. Padula's willingness to dig for the root cause changed my life. His background in rheumatology was invaluable.

PW, San Francisco

Honestly, what a wonderful thing to have a doctor who actually cares about my well-being and takes the time to explain his thinking. Dr. Abramson is a great doctor, and when I think back to the days when I had the rushed and impersonal treatment of Kaiser, or the hassle of finding a family practitioner who would fit me in, I am truly grateful.

LA, San Francisco

Dr. Abramson's engineering background really shows. Finally, a doctor who looked at my data and didn't dismiss my desire for testing and optimization.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does membership cost?+

We offer two primary membership tiers. Priority membership provides comprehensive primary care with unhurried appointments and same-day access. VIP membership adds direct physician access, expedited specialist referrals, house calls, and hospital oversight. We are happy to discuss specific pricing during an inquiry call, where we can understand your needs and recommend the right tier.

Do you accept insurance?+

We operate entirely outside of insurance networks. This independence is deliberate: it allows us to spend the time you need, order the tests that are clinically appropriate, and recommend specialists based solely on quality rather than network restrictions. Many of our patients submit claims to their insurance for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider, and we provide the documentation to facilitate that process.

How is this different from One Medical or other membership practices?+

The core difference is physician continuity and practice independence. Large membership practices like One Medical (now owned by Amazon) operate high-volume panels where you may see a different provider each visit. We are physician-owned with no corporate parent, maintain small patient panels, and your designated physician knows your history, your goals, and your preferences. We also offer capabilities that corporate practices cannot: hospital admitting privileges, direct specialist coordination across institutions, and house calls for members who need them.

What if I travel frequently or live outside San Francisco?+

Many of our members travel extensively for work. We provide telemedicine visits, coordinate care with providers in other cities when needed, and remain available by phone for urgent questions regardless of your time zone. In-person visits at our San Francisco office anchor the relationship, but continuity of care does not require you to be local at all times.

Can my family join the practice?+

Yes. We care for individuals, couples, and families. For families with complex coordination needs, such as aging parents with multiple specialists or children with ongoing medical concerns, the practice can serve as a central hub ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

What hospital do you use?+

Dr. Abramson and Dr. Padula maintain active admitting privileges at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), part of the Sutter Health system. For VIP and Home Care members, this means your own physician can oversee your inpatient care directly rather than handing you off to a hospitalist you have never met. This continuity is uncommon among concierge practices. We also actively supervise and coordinate inpatient care at other Bay Area hospitals, including UCSF and Stanford, and nationwide should you be hospitalized while traveling.

Are you accepting new patients?+

We are currently accepting new members at both tiers, though availability varies by physician. We recommend scheduling an inquiry call to discuss your needs and confirm availability. We intentionally keep our panels small, so we encourage prospective patients not to delay if this model of care is appealing.

Is there a minimum commitment period?+

Membership is annual. We find that the physician relationship and the value of coordinated care become most apparent over time, and most of our members have been with us for years. That said, we want the relationship to work for both sides, and we are happy to discuss how the first year typically unfolds during your inquiry call.

Can you coordinate with my existing specialists?+

Absolutely. This is one of our core capabilities. Because we are independent and not affiliated with any single institution, we coordinate freely across UCSF, Stanford, CPMC, and any other providers involved in your care. We obtain records, communicate directly with your specialists, and ensure that your overall care plan is coherent rather than fragmented.

What does the onboarding process look like?+

It begins with a brief inquiry call with our nursing team, followed by a conversation with your prospective physician. If we mutually agree on fit, we collect your medical records and prepare a thorough review. Your first in-person visit is a comprehensive evaluation at our 450 Sutter Street office, and from there, ongoing care begins. The entire onboarding process is designed to ensure your physician knows you well before the first clinical encounter.

Your health deserves more than 15 minutes.
