When a licensed or certified professional has a run-in with the law about the use of drugs or alcohol, or is reviewed for other reasons by his or her professional board, hospital, or regulatory agency, a substance abuse evaluation by a board-certified Addictionologist or 
Addiction Medicine specialist is often mandated.

Paul Abramson MD is not only Board Certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, but is also has extensive experience working with professionals under investigation by a variety of boards, agencies and hospitals. He is a member of the Physician Wellness Committee at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.

Thus you pay only for the time spent by professionals on your behalf, not for a large infrastructure that is of little use to you.

Prior to any evaluation, we have the professional provide us with all available background information, relevant medical and psychological records, and any legal documents related to the investigation. This maximizes the effectiveness of our first evaluation.
An first visit involves a history and physical examination by the doctor, review of records, and a thorough assessment in our office in downtown San Francisco. Further research and interviews are conducted as indicated. Dr. Abramson then creates an evaluation letter with his assessment and recommendations. Ongoing treatment and monitoring may be required.
