Alcohol and Drug Dependence is Treatable

Integrative Treatment for Substance Abuse:
"Stay-at-Home Rehab"

We frequently treat the following addictions:

We offer a comprehensive and intensive outpatient approach to treat alcohol and substance use disorders. This gives you the opportunity to live at home with the support of family and friends, to access community support, and to maintain you employment and financial income.

Our program provides expert services similar to those of a residential setting, all while keeping you in the comfort of your own home.

This program can include a combination of, but it not limited to:

We can mobilize any needed resources based on an individual’s unique needs after our comprehensive initial evaluation, and are expert at keeping people independent and “outpatient” who are otherwise facing going to a facility, residential drug treatment center or other institutional setting.

Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders

For those with dependency on opiate drugs or pain medications, we are experts in the use of buprenorphine substitution "medically assisted treatment" (MAT) also known under the brand names Suboxone and Subutex, for addiction treatment, pain management or both.

We also offer other approved treatments for opioid addiction, including naltrexone, and use them when clinically appropriate.

Medical Management of Alcohol Use Disorders and Benzodiazepine Tapers

Often pharmacologic assistance is helpful to maintain abstinence during and after alcohol or benzodiazepine detoxification. We tailor treatment to each individual, based on the latest methods and research. Naltrexone, baclofen, acamprosate, disulfiram, topiramate and other medications are each useful for certain situations. We are familiar with the Ashton Method and other methods of slow benzodiazepine tapering. Medical treatment and psychotherapy are both typically part of our team-based treatment of these conditions.

Uses of Advanced Pharmacolgy At MDMG
Baclofen in the Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorders and Benzodiazepine Dependence We use the medication baclofen off-label to reduce alcohol cravings and improve the odds of successful treatment. Baclofen interacts specifically with the GABA-b receptor in the brain, resulting in a highly specific action that reduces cravings while allowing normal cognitive function and learning.
Buprenorphine in the Treatment of Chronic Pain and Opioid Use Disorders Buprenorphine has proven itself as a breakthrough in the treatment of both opioid addiction and chronic pain by only "partially" binding to opioid receptors, leading to relief of withdraw and pain, without adding to opioid tolerance.
Ketamine in the Treatment of Depression, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD and Chronic Pain Ketamine relaxes the brain by blocking certain receptors active during learning. Ketamine allows for quick interventions for mood disorders and chronic pain by resetting the nervous system and enhancing brain plasticity.
